What is Mi CASA Summer Camp?

Mi CASA Summer Camp is a five-week summer program in partnership with Shakopee Community Education and the Mi CASA Organization. Designed for children PreK–9th grade, the camp provides an enriching, fun, and safe environment with a focus on supporting Latino and Hispanic youth while being open to all in the community.

Camp Highlights:

• Affordable: Minimal cost, with healthy snacks and transportation included

• Engaging Activities: Arts, sports, teamwork, and creative play

• Weekly Guest Speakers & Field Trips: Learn from community leaders and explore new places

• Focus on Life Skills: Leadership, teamwork, self-confidence, and cultural pride

• Youth Employment Development: Older participants can apply for camp counselor positions, where they learn job skills, go through an interview process, and gain valuable leadership experience. Many counselors were once campers themselves, giving them the chance to give back to the next generation.

• Safe & Supportive: A welcoming space where kids can develop, learn, and grow
